China Released FZ/T 74007-2019 UV Protective Light Weight Outdoor Clothing

China will officially implement the Standard FZ/T 74007-2019 UV-protective light weight outdoor clothing on November 1, 2019.

The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the new sector standard for UV-protective light weight outdoor clothing, FZ/T 74007-2019 would be officially implemented on November 1, 2019.

Definition of UV-Protective Light Weight Outdoor Clothing

An UV-protective light weight outdoor clothing is a garment product with solar ultraviolet radiation protective property, and with the fabric weight (conventional mass) of the single layer fabric (or the total mass of the multi-layer fabrics) not greater than 60 g/m2.

Application Scope

This standard is applicable to UV-protective light weight outdoor clothing. It does not cover infant clothing for children aged 36 months or younger.

Physical and Chemical Test Items

Test items include fibre content, formaldehyde, pH value, odour, decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amines, dimensional change after laundering, seam strength, tear strength, colourfastness (colourfastness to washing with soap or soap and soda, colourfastness to water, colourfastness to perspiration, colourfastness to rubbing, colourfastness to light, colourfastness to light with artificial perspiration, colourfastness to transfer in joints, and the potential to phenolic yellowing of materials), water-vapour transmission rate, solar ultraviolet radiation protective property, and appearance quality after laundering. In addition, the requirements on children’s clothing defined in GB 31701 should also be complied with if the product is for children.
