Product Recall Trends in Softlines: Q3 2019
Softline product recalls in the EU increased by 40% in Q3 2019, with 56 recalls, in comparison to Q2. During the same period, recalls of softline products in the US fell by 10% with 9 recalls.
The top recall category in the EU was clothing and textile items, with the main risks being injuries, predominantly within children’s clothing. A number of jewelry products were also recalled for chemical risks.
In the USA, the top recall category was also clothing and textiles items with the main risk being burns.
