Kenya Introduces PVoC for Goods Regulated by other Government Agencies
Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) in Kenya has significantly grown since its inception in 2005. Throughout this time, SGS has maintained an unrivaled track record of service delivery, as shown by our consecutive contract renewals with Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS).
The Government of Kenya, through KEBS, has now introduced an Enriched Certificate of Conformity (CoC) which will be issued after ascertaining the conformity of goods regulated by government agencies. These goods were previously exempted from PVoC.
Goods regulated by these government agencies are now subject to PVoC
|Communications Authority||Kenya Civil Aviation Authority||Mines and Geological Department|
|Directorate of Veterinary Services||Kenya Maritime Authority||Pest Control Products Board|
|Fisheries Department||Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Services||Pharmacy and Poisons Board|
|Radiation Protection Board
||Veterinary Medicines Directorate
In addition, anti-counterfeiting measures are now part of the PVoC scope. Specific steps will be taken during inspection and verification to ensure that counterfeit goods are flagged and exportation of these goods into Kenya prohibited.
