Product Recall Trends in Electrical & Electronics: Q2 2019
Electrical and electronic product recalls increased by 27% in the USA in Q2 2019, whilst the EU saw a decrease of 8%, compared with Q1 2019.
In the USA there were 15 recalls, for which the main risk was overheating. These included 7 recalls of audio, video and household appliances and 5 for IT and telecommunications products.
There were 73 recalls of electrical and electronic products in the EU in Q2 2019. These included 39 recalls of luminaires (mainly lighting chains), 18 of audio, video and household appliances, and 16 of IT and telecommunications for which electric shock was the main risk.
