Colorful Silk Scarfs and Shawls

The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has introduced a new Industry Standard for silk scarves and shawls, FZ/T 43014-2018 <Silk scarf and shawl>, which was officially implemented on September 1, 2018.

Application Scope

The standard applies to scarfs and shawls that are mainly made of pure silk fabrics, or silk with other yarn/fibers interwoven/blended into fabrics (silk content ≥30%). The silk scarfs and shawls with burnt-out effect may also refer to this standard. This standard does not apply to products for children and infants.

Main Technical Contents

The technical requirements of FZ/T 43014-2018 include the requirements for internal quality and appearance.

Requirements for Internal Quality

Including requirements for fiber content, formaldehyde content, pH value, decomposable carcinogenic acrylamines dyes, odor, dimensional changes after washing, dimensional changes after dry cleaning and colorfastness (washing, dry-cleaning, water, perspiration, light, rubbing, and hot pressing).

Requirements for Appearance Performances

Including requirements for dimensional tolerance, color difference, appearance defects, sewing quality and ironing quality.
