SGS is pleased to announce that we have issued CSC certification to CEMEX’s Panama Norte concrete facility, making it the first facility in Latin America’s ready-mix concrete sector to receive this certification.

The plant in Panama was awarded a bronze certificate for the sustainable sourcing of materials used in the manufacture of concrete, aggregates and cement. SGS provided auditing services as an independent, third party certification body to ensure that the facility complied with CSC requirements.

About the Concrete Sustainability Council

The CSC, which was founded in 2017, aims to improve transparency in the concrete sector and highlight concrete’s essential role in creating a sustainable construction sector. Its globally recognized responsible sourcing certification system grades facilities that produce concrete, aggregate and cement on environmental, social and governance practices throughout their supply chains. Certification enables these facilities to demonstrate the degree to which they operate in an environmentally, socially and economically responsible way.
