Recalls in the EU softlines products increased by 122%, rising to 140 products in Q4 2017, compared to the previous quarter. Of these, 105 products were items of children’s clothing that presented mainly risks of injury.

Other key items were safety shoes which presented a risk of injury and hobby/sports gloves that posed a chemical risk.

In the USA, softlines product recalls dropped 8% – to 11 – 10 of which were clothing, textile and fashion items presenting main risk of flammability, including 9 items of children’s clothing.
