The European Union formulated commission decision (EU) 2017/1357 on July 19, 2017. The standard EN 60335-2-9:2003 shall be listed in the OJ of Directive 2014/35/EU(LVD) with a restriction. The OJ (harmonized standards under LVD) was updated on September 8, 2017, and the standard EN 60335-2-9:2003 with a restriction was listed.

Mainly for grills, toasters and similar portable cooking appliances.
EN 60335-2-9:2003 with a restriction listed in the OJ
The application of the following parts of standard EN 60335-2-9:2003 does not confer a presumption of conformity to the safety objectives laid down in point 1(c) of Annex I to Directive 2014/35/EU, in conjunction with point 2(b) of that Annex:
- Footnote b of Table Z101 in Section 11(When, due to the construction or dimensional limitations of the appliance, the required values cannot be met, the maximum temperature rise shall not be higher than twice the values indicated. In such cases, a warning shall be marked on the relevant surface of the appliance);
- The parts of Section 7.1 which refer to footnote b of Table Z101 (a warning or symbol of hot surface);
- The parts of Section 11.Z10x which refer to ventilation openings (surfaces within 25 mm from the ventilation openings).
