The lab's acquisition strengthens our microbiology and food chemistry testing services, and closes a geographical gap in our testing portfolio. It allows us to offer clients a full service offering for food safety testing in Canada. Today, we offer the most comprehensive spectrum of food analysis of raw food materials, finished food products, pet food, and environmental monitoring for the food industry in North America.
Focused on microbiology and chemistry testing our Mississauga lab is staffed and equipped to deliver testing services for food and food products, including:
- Microbiological testing – indicators, pathogens and spoilage organisms such as E. coli, Salmonella, Listeria etc.
- Shelf life studies
- Nutritional testing and vitamins
- Residual solvents

With a reputation for consistency, accuracy and quick turnaround times, our testing services are applicable to a broad range of food categories, including:

The laboratory has a testing scope accredited to ISO 17025 by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC).

Beyond our traditional testing services, the teams at our Mississauga lab also work with teams across SGS around the world to provide comprehensive food safety solutions.
