On June 2, 2017 the Russian Export Center (REC) and SGS, signed a Cooperation Agreement at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

The agreement was signed by Petr Fradkov, the REC General Director, and Frederic Schenk, SGS Vice-President.

The SPIEF, being one of the major economic conferences of the Russian Federation, has been held this year under the theme “Achieving a New Balance in the Global Economic Arena”.

In accordance with the signed Agreement SGS will provide Russian exporters with a wide range of product conformity assessment services in line with import countries’ legislation. The REC and SGS collaboration will mainly focus on the development of the Russian exports integrating the following actions:

  • Informing exporters on the third countries’ requirements specified in national and international laws and standards applicable to exported products
  • Product testing in accredited testing facilities
  • Certification of exporters’ management systems against international standards
  • Assistance in issuance or preparation of the documents such as declarations of conformity, certificates of conformity, test reports

One of the key areas of cooperation between the REC and SGS will be assisting the Russian exporters to meet the requirements of the European Directives and to obtain CE-marking.

Due to the vast network of offices and laboratories operated in over 130 countries around the world SGS has gained an unrivalled expertise in conformity assurance for cross-border trade purposes. The SGS Group owns a wide range of affiliated Notified Certification Bodies and accredited testing laboratories on the markets that are targeted by Russian exporters.

At the same time, SGS has been accredited to certify products against the Eurasian Economic Union’s standards (EAEU). In 1993, SGS was the first international certification body to be accredited within the GOST R system. Thus, the in-depth insight of Russian and foreign certification systems allow SGS specialists to find optimal conformity assessment solutions for Russian exporters.

The Russian Export Centre (REC) has been established to provide a specialised service for exporters. Its areas of expertise include export transactions, providing consultations on issues related to exports, assistance in organising exports, and providing support related to export procedures.
