Kenya PVoC Program to Incorporate Medical Devices and Healthcare Products
Effective September 1, 2017, all medical devices, food supplements, medical cosmetics, herbal products and other allied borderline healthcare products must comply with the Pre-Export Verification of Conformity program for import into Kenya. These products will require a certificate of conformity (CoC) for clearance at the border.
The new requirement was announced by the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), in partnership with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB), in an effort to protect the public against products that do not comply with local quality standards and technical regulations.
