Global fashion brands and their suppliers completing SGS’s Hazardous Substance Control (HSC) Workshops have seen significant improvement in chemical management across the supply chain.
During 2016, fashion brands and their suppliers in China, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and Turkey, joined SGS textile and garment industry experts to gain the skills and detailed understanding of chemical risk assessment, and to learn how to apply them in their daily operations.
Watch the video and get first-hand accounts from suppliers of how SGS’s HSC workshops have helped them.
Delivered by native language trainers, these workshops enabled everyone to get to grips with the topic and ask detailed process specific questions. Comprehensive and practical, feedback is very positive and suppliers feel that these workshops will help them to achieve their Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals goal by 2020.
A professional training workshop for the textile and garment industry, SGS’s HSC Workshop is process specific, targeting each stage of the manufacturing process, such as textile dyeing, printing, washing and finishing, as well as leather tanning. It introduces attendees to the concept of chemical flow management and how to create a traceability system, as well as how to identify, manage and mitigate risk.
