SGS opened its first lab in Germany in 1848. The testing services offered cover the following types of consumer product:

  • Sport and leisure equipment
  • Electrical and electronic products
  • Lamps and luminaires
  • Cosmetics, personal care and household

  • Agriculture products

SGS Taunusstein Features

The SGS Taunusstein facility incorporates eight distinct laboratories, which perform the following types of services:

  • Chemical testing
  • Microbiological testing
  • Sensorial testing
  • Safety - fitness for use (FFU)
  • Skin and hair application
  • Cleaning performance
  • Pharmaceutical testing
  • Agrochemical testing

The SGS Taunusstein laboratories have received, among others, the following types of accreditations:

  • GLP accreditation
  • GMP certification and US-FDA registered
  • DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025
  • EU Notified Body for Toys

SGS Taunusstein has also become a Competence Center for Chemical Testing (Restricted Substances). Furthermore, it also employs a wide range of experts as well as customer service staff, sales managers and key account managers.
