Supporting the publication of the 2015 version of ISO 9001, SGS in Indonesia gathered educational practitioners from well known universities in Jakarta to attend the SGS Seminar on ISO 9001:2015. This took place in January 2016, at Aston TB Simatupang, Jakarta, Indonesia.
In the education sector, quality management systems are very important, especially in the era of ASEAN economic communities. Dr. Ir. Era Purwanto, MEng, the speaker at this seminar, stated that higher education is the primary foundation of three pillars in a country, namely: political security, socio culture, and economics. Therefore, universities needed to be stable, prosperous, and highly competitive.
In this seminar, SGS brought together practitioners from the education sector, to meet face-to-face and have the opportunity to discuss the integration of quality management systems and accreditation for higher education (BAN-PT), sharing their ideas and experience in the implementation of new versions of quality management systems.
Attended by more than 70 participants, the seminar was well received by all the participants. The overall feedback from participants was that the seminar was well structured, very informative and they had learnt something that they were not previously aware of.
It was appreciated that SGS assisted them by providing seminars and participants hoped the seminar would be delivered in the future with updated topics. The seminar was intended as a step towards encouraging the leading universities in Jakarta to be aware of the implementation of new versions of quality management systems and to integrate them with the accreditation requirements for higher education which adds value to their organization.
