SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, is pleased to announce that it has been invited to give a speech about its art services at the ICEFAT Annual Conference in Geneva, November 3 to 6, 2016.

This invitation only event is organized by the ICEFAT, the International Convention of Exhibition and Fine Art Transporters, and brings together the industry’s key players.

With its unique approach built on an international network of accredited and trained art conservators, proprietary software and rigorous museum level procedures, SGS helps fine art shipping companies and their clients to monitor the state of conservation of artworks across transportation, exhibitions or different sales.

Until now, art market participants have used the expertise of local art conservators, without the benefit of a global standardised platform to ensure they can detect damage and restoration between two different locations. It was therefore difficult for people to understand when damage happened and under whose liability. With SGS they now benefit from an independent, harmonized and global system that ensures consistency, confidentiality and traceability of data. Fine art shipping companies are therefore protected against hidden damages and other claims when they receive an artwork in custody.

On the morning of November 5, SGS will make a plenary presentation, after which delegates will have the opportunity to direct questions to SGS’s art experts. In addition, SGS will maintain a presence throughout the conference, for delegates to find out more about SGS’s art service and talk, one-to-one, with our experts.
