To commemorate our 50th anniversary of service to the Public Sector in 2015, we donated an eight cubic meter water tower and solar panels to Association Présence Madagascar, which helps children in Madagascar who have been abandoned or are living in poverty with their families. The water tower and solar panels were officially inaugurated on May 10, 2016.

Through its three centers, Présence Madagascar gives more than one hundred children without access to drinking water or electricity a chance for a better future.

The water tower and solar panels are located at Présence Madagascar's Fanantenana Center (Fanantenana means "hope"), where orphans are provided with education and training. Thanks to this donation, the center now has water and electricity for a cutting and sewing workshop.

About 40 SGS employees, customs officials and other private sector employees were present at the inauguration, as were the Secretary General of the Atsinanana region, the Secretary General of the Tamatave prefecture, the First Deputy Mayor of Tamatave and the Chairman of the Town Council.

The inauguration provided an opportunity to highlight the importance that SGS attaches to the welfare of communities. It also gave local authorities a chance to show how much they appreciate the private sector taking on such responsibility.
