SGS recently awarded the ISO 9001 certification to SEGi College Subang Jaya. The certificate presentation ceremony was held in conjunction with the SEGi College Subang Jaya 2014 Convocation Day on 19th November 2014. The certificate was presented to Dr. Lisa Tan, Principal of SEGi College Subang Jaya by Kenny Looi, General Manager of SGS Malaysia, Systems and Services Certification.
SEGI College Subang Jaya successfully attained the ISO 9001 certificate in provision of higher education management in curriculum design, teaching, learning, examination and support services in tertiary, undergraduate and postgraduate education.
The ISO 9001 standard is a mechanism that through its processes approach, provides clear guidelines for the top management of an institution or university to improve the effectiveness of their education system. Just like the thousands of organizations who have realized the benefits of international quality standards and embraced them in the drive for competitiveness, more and more colleges and universities seek to improve their educational quality through a better quality management system and strive to implement ISO 9001 as part of that process.
In applying the ISO 9001 system, SEGi College Subang Jaya will be able to develop a continuous improvement cycle based on the college’s mission, vision and objectives, with the data obtained pointing towards where improvement is needed, and indicating strengths and weaknesses to be addressed.
