Government of Uganda Awards SGS Contract to Perform Mandatory Vehicle Inspections
On March 17, 2015, following an international tender process, Uganda's Ministry of Works and Transport awarded SGS an exclusive contract to design, implement and perform roadworthiness inspections nationwide. Vehicles will be subject to safety and emission inspections beginning next year.
SGS and the Ministry of Works and Transport will work together to make sure the program actively contributes to the enhancement of road safety and the reduction of transport related vehicle emissions.
This program will benefit Uganda through investment in infrastructure, including the newest test equipment, and the sharing of international best practices. Additionally, the program will create job opportunities for both men and women, who will also have access to training to become best-in-class in their profession.
