SGS France has achieved accreditation to certify feed operators against the new GMP+ FSA (Feed Safety Assurance) scheme, the first in the country to do so.

SGS’s GMP+ and B10 certified laboratories in France and the Netherlands provide a full range of services to operators across the supply chain, to ensure they fulfil the GMP+ requirements.

Initiated in the Netherlands, for the feed sector, and developed over the last decade in Europe, the GMP+ FSA (Feed Safety Assurance) certification scheme is a complete module for the assurance of feed safety at every step of the feed supply chain. Internationally recognised, GMP+ FSA can be implemented for trading, storage and transport, as well as processing activities.

Day to day, SGS teams conduct field inspections of vessels, barges, trains and trucks, monitoring previous shipments and cleaning methods in accordance with the International Transport Database for Feed. We take samples and complete testing under accredited methods, in accordance with the GMP+ annexes for contaminants detection.

In addition, under our remit as a certification body, we also provide qualified animal feed auditors to verify GMP+ FSA requirements regarding quality management systems, contaminant monitoring, animal feed regulation fulfilment and traceability/recall procedures are met.
