SGS Announces New French Facility to Increase Quality Control Service and Integrate Biopharmaceutical Analysis

SGS recently announced further investment in the French market, with a new facility in Villeneuve la Garenne. The new location, which will replace an existing laboratory in Clichy, is approximately 5km away, and complements SGS Life Science Services’ strategy to increase its Quality Control service throughput and support an ever-expanding research and development pipeline of new biopharmaceutical drugs within the country. The new laboratory will be completed in Q2 2015.

SGS Announces Investment and New Services at its Shanghai Facility

SGS recently announced that is to expand its Shanghai, China, cGMP chemistry and microbiology laboratories to 2000 square meter by Q2 2015. The company will offer new services from the facility, including a new biotechnology laboratory for cytotoxicity testing, cell-based assays, plus endotoxin and ELISA testing. The current 1500 square meter facility provides services for method development and validation, testing of raw materials, APIs and finished products, as well as testing of Traditional Chinese Medicines.

SGS Announces Completion of New Life Science Services Laboratory in Carson, California

SGS recently announced the completion of its fifth North American Life Science Services laboratory, in Carson, California (located 15 miles from LAX). The new, 8,000 sq. ft. GMP/GLP facility houses 6,000 square feet of dedicated laboratory space and 2,000 square feet of offices, conference rooms, and client records. The laboratory will provide microbiological testing and bioanalytical services and will initially employ seven scientific staff, with room for expansion in relation to customer demand and will be officially opened at a ceremony on October 23rd.
