SGS will also present a paper at the IPE on October 2 at 8:30 a.m. entitled “Practical Application of Low Constraint SENT Fracture Toughness Testing for Pipeline Girth Welds.” The presentation will discuss aspects of a relatively new method of fracture toughness testing, the Single Edge-Notched Tensile test, which may become increasingly useful in assessment of flaws in pipeline girth welds. Particular emphasis will be placed on issues surrounding test temperature and interpretation of fracture toughness transition temperature results. Presented by Peter B. Schamuhn Kirk, SGS Ludwig Associates Engineering Ltd and Victoria Chum, SGS Ludwig Associates Engineering Ltd.
With extensive pipeline expertise and capabilities across Canada, USA and globally, SGS looks forward to meeting you in Calgary.
