SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification Company was invited to exhibit and speak at the Malaysia Medical Devices Association (MMDA) Refresher Workshop on Medical Device Act & Regulation, held at the Tropicana Golf & Country Club Resort, Kuala Lumpur, 17-18 February, 2014.

The workshop, organised by the MMDA, was a premier event for members of the MMDA as well as the public. It targeted the various stakeholders involved in the medical device industry who were seeking further clarification on the requirements, processes and procedures with regards to the Malaysian Medical Device Act & Regulations. The Medical Device Authority (MDA) was also on hand to update participants on the current progress of the Medical Device Act 2012.

SGS, being an approved Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) under the MDA, was one of three invited CABs to exhibit and speak at the workshop. The company was also given the opportunity to present an overview about itself and its focus in the medical devices segment. Mr. Kenny Looi, General Manager for the System and Services Certification division, presented the range of SGS solutions and services to the workshop participants and also introduced SGS Academy Malaysia’s flexible training and development solutions for continuous organisational development.
