SGS will attend and exhibit at the 2nd International PV Platform in Romania. Hosted by international trade fair and conference organizer REECO, the event will be held at the Expo Arad International, 300 Calea Aurel Vlaicu St in Arad, the triangular border between Romania, Hungary and Serbia, from 9-11 April, 2014. Although SGS attended the 6th International Trade Fair and Conferences for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, a similar REECO & RENEXPO-organized event held in Bucharest in November 2013, this marks the first SGS appearance in Arad.

Fair Facts and Figures

The over 2,000 square meters of exhibition space will provide representatives from over 50 key industry players enough room for introducing products and services for the photovoltaic sector. More than 2,000 visitors are expected over the 3-days fair and 120 participants will be welcomed to the parallel 2-day PV conference: „Changes & Risks“, addressing photovoltaic topics such as project financing, the latest legislative trends, the development of multinational companies and a compact view of the Romanian PV market.

SGS Romania Participation and Representation

SGS will participate at this event with a stand located in the area HA-G11 and a presentation on the first day of the PV conference.
Mihaela Sarbu, SGS Romania Business Development Manager and one other SGS expert will host guests at the SGS booth, giving visitors professional and competent information and insight into the comprehensive SGS renewable energy and photovoltaic portfolios as well as the worldwide SGS reputation of excellence.
SGS Romania's Mihaela Sarbu will also hold a presentation entitled “Independent Technical Due Diligence Process for PV Projects,” addressing project financing for photovoltaic power plants.

SGS Photovoltaic and Romanian Sector Growth

PV Platform Romania  will give SGS the unique opportunity to present its services, competences and experience in the photovoltaic sector and to directly communicate with fair visitors and conference participants.

As a trusted leader in the photovoltaic sector, SGS develops test methods and collaborates on research and development projects for the use of solar energy. Global SGS knowledge, expertise and state-of-the-art facilities for solar technology ensure manufacturers develop better solar products for market worldwide. A market leader among photovoltaic service providers, SGS offers testing and certification services and serves the entire value chain of the photovoltaic industry.
The photovoltaic energy sector in Romania has a high growth potential due to an incentive scheme for investors in photovoltaic giving 6 green certificates for each megawatt installed before 1 January, 2014. This incentive drove investment in photovoltaic up and Romania is now viewed as the next target country for starting photovoltaic projects.
Because of the high potential for renewable energy in Romania, SGS participation at the PV Platform event will profile SGS as a competent, reliable service provider as well as a solid and trustworthy partner for both owners and lenders. SGS Industrial Services electrical supervision team in Romania successfully assisted in connecting more than 100 PV stations in seven counties located in the southwest of the country to the distribution network and the National Energy System.
Romania is focusing on increasing renewable energy capacity in order to reduce its dependence on fossil fuel resources and investment in the renewable sector is still developing.
At the end of 2013, installed capacity was 2500 MW in wind farms and 1100 MW in solar technology. The Minister of Energy has announced his encouragement for investments in 2014 strengthening solar and photovoltaic, biomass and micro hydro projects.
SGS looks forward to actively participating in the PV Platform event in Arad.
