SGS North America GLP Services Complete EPA Inspection with No Negative Findings
As global demand for food and grains expands, crop protection and development of prolific varieties must occur to meet these needs. Insecticides, herbicides, and genetic engineering all play crucial roles in increasing yields and expanding the diversity of conditions under which crops can be grown. SGS assists agrochemical companies in their quest to develop new products while also improving the effectiveness and scope of current products, by providing Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) field and laboratory testing services.
SGS Brookings laboratory and field locations recently underwent an EPA GLP 40 CFR Part 160 FIFRA inspection and both the Brookings laboratory and field site inspections concluded with no negative findings. This successful inspection allows data generated from these locations to be utilised for domestic and international GLP studies.
Our Brookings laboratory provides a wide range of GLP testing services housed within a 20,000 sq. foot ISO 17025 accredited facility. This laboratory performs GLP compliant testing for seed, raw agricultural and processed commodities. The scope of our GLP services includes, but are not limited to:
- Magnitude of residue.
- Seed treatment application and verification.
- Qualitative and quantitative enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
- Polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
- Independent laboratory validation.
The facility also performs microbiological, nutritional, chemical composition, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) DNA and protein analysis testing on a variety of seed, food products and feed ingredients. Similarly, the seed division located adjacent to the analytical services provides expert seed germination, physical and genetic purity and vigour analysis. Our Brookings laboratory holds ISO 9001:2008, ISTA and NSHS accreditations.
SGS’ Field Research stations offer a network of experienced employees located throughout North and South America as well as around the globe. Twelve SGS field stations conduct GLP trials under diverse geographical and climate conditions as well as within EPA and NAFTA regions 2, 3, 4, 5, 5A, 6, 7, 8 and 10.
We provide customers with a tailored package that encompasses study management as well as field, laboratory and report services.
Project Management along with Study Directorship lead our GLP compliant services in supporting chemical registration, crop rotation, soil dissipation, environmental fate, field leaching, run-off, drip/drench irrigation studies, seed dressing and drilling as well as GLP testing. All GLP services are completed with a full project report and our GLP programme is supported by Quality Assurance (QA) staff.
