SGS presented their views on the recently published G4 version of the GRI Sustainability Reporting Guidelines in a joint webinar with Context Group last June 19, 2013. The webinar was hosted by Bloomberg BNA.

The webinar provided an overview of the new guidelines and a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages in using them from the perspective of the reporting organisation and report writers and the assurance provider.

Participants heard a lively debate from the two presenters, Rebecca Bowens, SGS Global Product Manager for Sustainability Report Assurance, and Peter Knight, Chairman of the Context Group. The likely impact of GRI G4 on reporting organisations was discussed and the session closed with a review of the role of sustainability reports as a communications vehicle.

SGS will present a complimentary webinar on the same topic on Wednesday, June 26. This one hour webinar will evaluate the GRI G4 Guidelines and provide an insight on the key changes and challenges facing organizations that are already using GRI to frame their sustainability reporting, and also those that are considering its use for the first time. Participants will have the opportunity to pose their questions during an interactive Q&A session at the conclusion of the presentation. Register here.
