Training Through Visual Communication on Prevention of Occupational Risks in the Use of Agricultural Machinery (Agricultural Code)
Since October 2011, the Department of “Development of Project and Innovation (R + D + i) of SGS participate in the "Agricultural Code", project of "Transfer of Innovation" funded by the "Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Commission" Leonardo da Vinci". This project has a duration of 24-month.
The objective of this project is to transfer, update and expand the training materials developed in a previous project called "FOR.MA.AGRI" which was developed to encourage the proper use of tractors and agricultural machinery.
The transfer of these training materials to Spain, Romania, Turkey, Italy, Slovakia and Belgium will be made by using a methodology based on visual signs and symbols and can be used in the 27 EU countries.
The consortium of the project has eight partners from six European countries with an extensive experience in training and in the prevention of occupational hazards:
- Promoter: Federación Agroalimentaria CCOO (Spain)
- Coordinator: Betelgeux (Spain)
- INM: Bucuresti (Romania)
- Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi (Turkey)
- SGS Tecnos (Spain)
- Conferderazione italiana agricoltori dell'Umbria (Italy)
- Agroinštitút Nitra, štátny podnik (Slovaquia)
- European Federation of Trade Unions in the Food (Bélgium)
In this first year of implementation, has already developed the "study of training needs in this area in each of the participating countries" and "adaptation, development and improvement of the following training contents":
- First aid/emergencies
- Protective Clothing and equipment
- Agricultural Machinery Maintenance
- Storage, transport and processing machinery
- Agricultural transport on the road
- Tractor handling
- Propeller shaft connected machines
- Self-propelled machinery
- Mounted or trailed equipment
- Machinery for applying phytosanitary products (pesticides)
- Pedestrian controlled motorized equipment
Currently, this project is in the phase of "ADAPTATION AND TRANSFER OF THE ORIGINAL PROJECT" using visual codes.
After the transfer of innovation, we will proceed to develop a "pilot" with workers and trainers in each of the countries.
Also, there have been three of the five "transnational meetings" planned:
- Spain: December 2011
- Turkey: March 2012
- Italy: September 2012
The next two meetings will be held in the first quarter and September of 2013 in Slovakia and Belgium respectively.
In the first one, will review the training content developed in audiovisual format, and the pilot will be planned.
Finally, the project will close in Belgium to disseminate the results among workers, trainers, institutions, organizations.
