SGS Focuses On Health Effort of Plumbing Products In Contact With Drinking Water
In March 2011, SGS China was successfully audited on NSF 61 capability as a technical service provider for the health effects in plumbing relevant products in contact with drinking water. The SGS lab in the US (Fairfield, NJ) has also NSF 61 on the ISO Guide 65 scope.
Beside the NSF 61 Health Effect of Drinking Water System Components testing, SGS also provides testing and certification services for ‘Lead Free Act’ (S. Bill 3874), which was signed by US President Obama on January 2011 requiring all states to reduce lead content in plumbing products, and the AB 1953 California requirements.
SGS teams also work on similar services for products shipped to the European countries like UK, France and Germany to meet the safe drinking water programs (WRAS, ACS and DVGW). The Drinking Water Safety requirements are becoming increasingly critical in global regions. SGS Plumbing Drinking Water Safety Service will help plumbing manufacturers to ensure the compliance.
