SGS collaborates in the issuance of Preventive Technical Note (NTP) nº 890 edited by Instituto Nacional de Seguridad e Higiene en el Trabajo (INSHT). This NTP states a group of preventive measures in order to avoid staff exposure to crystallized silica during mechanized operations (cutting, calibration, polishing) for quartz conglomerates, both in manufacturing facilities of pieces as well as during installation stage, due to the generation of dust released in the working environment. Those preventive measures related to quartz conglomerate manufacturing are not encompassed in this note.
