The seminar, organized by the RITE Group, was held on 6 October 2010. The ‘Reducing the Impact of Textiles on the Environment’ (RITE) Group, formed in 2007, is essentially a platform for sharing ideas and innovations in relation to sustainable textiles.

The event, sponsored by Tesco, showcased some recent technological innovations in sustainable textiles production, touched on the likely future of fashion in relation to sustainability, and debated issues such as cost versus sustainability. The theme of the event was ‘Shaping tomorrow’s industry’ and Forum for the Future set the scene by quoting research on factors that will impact future consumer behaviors.
