In October to December 2009, the legendary Cirque du Soleil, appearing for the first time in Russia, presented its fantastic show Varekai in Moscow under the Grand Chapiteau at the Luzhniki stadium. SGS is proud to have assisted Cirque du Soleil in their verification of conformity to Russian safety regulations.

As a matter of policy, Cirque du Soleil treats its employees, clients, partners and neighbours with respect, and willingly operates its business according to the laws of every jurisdiction in which it works. That is why, well in advance of the performance, Cirque du Soleil contacted the Russian subsidiary of the SGS Group to request assistance in proving the show’s compliance with relevant safety regulations in Russia, in light of the inherent risks carried by Cirque’s activities.

A spokesperson from Cirque du Soleil said: "Health and safety are integrated in the core beliefs of the entire range of our company's operations. Cirque has undertaken to position itself as the entertainment industry’s benchmark in terms of health and safety."
