CITA holds an International Conference combined with the General Assembly approximately every 18 months.  The CITA Conference is a unique opportunity to convene people active or interested in technical roadworthiness inspections of in-service vehicles worldwide.

Regularly delegates are from the National and International Administrations, Ministries, Vehicle Roadworthiness operators and equipment manufacturers and other interested parties. There are also representatives from International Institutions such as the European Commission, Road Safety Unit (DGTREN), Transport and Energy Directorate, and the United Nations, Economic Commission for Europe and World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations WP29, who often use the occasion to discuss the most up-to-date regulatory developments and other issues of interest. CITA conferences have taken place in a number of locations and regions such as Paris – France, Dublin – Ireland, Chicago – USA, Hanoi – Vietnam, Porto - Portugal.

Conference Theme: Global Challenges - Opportunities for ChangeThe world is facing an increasing number of major challenges. Unless they are addressed urgently, they may threaten our economic, social and environmental wellbeing. Motorised road transport is associated with many of these problems. Radical changes are needed to make road transport sustainable. Change brings opportunities.

The 2009 CITA Conference will focus on identifying opportunities and capitalizing on them, and maximizing the contribution that in-service vehicle inspection can generate to help solve problems.

The plenary sessions and workshops will take place at the Göteborg Convention Centre.

You may visit the CITA website for more information regarding the conference.
