SGS has global expertise in the area of performance testing of packaged-products, recognized by both ISTA and Wal-Mart. Leon Venech, our Packaging Expert at SGS U.S., has been invited to the strategic meetings since January 2009 and has helped to develop the new protocols that all products of Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club will have to comply with.

Through this program, Wal-Mart demonstrates its commitment to sustainability. Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club aim to develop what they will refer to as “Just Right Testing” Procedures.

SGS laboratories in Asia have been conducting tests for Sam’s Club Vendors and Suppliers for years. Participating in the Sam's Club Test Procedure Development Program gives SGS the opportunity to have its technical staff well-trained to the new testing protocols and immediately operational once they are validated. SGS will also be able to provide Sam’s Club suppliers with technical and educational support to ensure they meet Wal-Mart sustainability goals.

* ISTA is the International Safe Transit Association, the leading association of organizations and professional individuals dedicated to the development, design and evaluation of cost-effective and protective transport packaging.

Feel free to contact us for any questions on the Sam’s Club Programme or on our integrated solutions and worldwide capabilities for consumer products.
