On July 10-13, SGS representatives visited South Federal District of Russia as members of the official delegation from the Association of European Business. The visit has been organized with the support of the Russian President’s Administration.

During the visit, meetings have been held with Rostov region authorities, Krasnodar region authorities and Sochi-city authorities. In Rostov-on-Don, Dmitry Kozak, the authorized representative of the Russian President in South Federal District held the meeting with members of the delegation.

Dmitry Kozak declared that investments in South Federal District would justify the hopes of European businesspeople. He noted that the District is characterized by a developed transport infrastructure, automobile and railway roads density is here 3-3.5 times higher than the Russian average. The District produces one fifth of the total Russia agricultural output, with Rostov, Volgograd, Astrakhan and Krasnodar regions being the most industrially developed. Dmitry Kozak emphasized that achievement of political stability boosts entrepreneurship development as well as domestic and foreign investments.

SGS opened its branch in South Russia in 1992 in Novorossiysk-city, and today it operates 20 offices and laboratories throughout the District providing certification and inspection services in such sectors of economy as agriculture, minerals, oil, food, construction and others.
