The IECQ Hazardous Substance Process Management Symposium 2007 was successfully held in Tianjin, Shanghai and Shenzhen from April 25-27. This symposium was a great success. There were a total of 400 clients attending the Symposiums in the three cities. Mr Stanley H. Salot Jr., President of Electronic Components Certification Board (ECCB), and Mr Huang Jian Zhong, Officer, Chinese Ministry of Information Industry and one of the key persons behind the China RoHS, gave speeches in all three symposium cities; over 10 local associations joined the symposium as the co-organizers, and 29 medias including national media CCTV-9, local radios, newspaper, magazines reported this great event.
So far, more than 100 attendants have shown great interest in IECQ HSPM and said they were in the process of certification application. This IECQ symposium has been a benchmark symposium for future new product promoting in China/HK region, thanks to the efforts of SSC global & local marketing team, product managers, and regional management team.
As an international SGS IECQ event, IECQ Hazardous Substance Process Management Symposium was also successfully held in Taipei International Titronics Exhibition on the first day of the exhibit in Taiwan. The symposium was co-held by SGS, ECCB, CTECCB and TEEMA. One hundred sixty suppliers in the electrical and electronic industry attended.
This big event also proved to be a great success in both Japan and Korea on Apr 24 and May 14. Big interests of the local markets were aroused; SGS was recognized as the main IECQ certification service provider in those hosting countries. Clients’ enquiries have been continuously followed up.
To date, 334 IECQ HSPM QC 080000 certificates have been issued globally, 171 of them have been issued by SGS who amounts to 51% of the global market share. SGS has now been approved by the Electronic Component Certification Board (ECCB) as the first certification body to extend its capability to conduct IECQ HSPM audits. Three Directives: RoHS, Battery Directive and the Packaging Directive can be audited by SGS together with IECQ HSMP QC 080000 as the bundle service to deliver.”
