SGS’s Information Technology Service Management Auditor/Lead Auditor Course (ITSM LAC) (the ISO 20000 lead auditor course) has been certificated by IRCA. SGS is now able to deliver the accredited training course world-wide and display the IRCA logo on all training material and certificates.

SGS achieved the IRCA accreditation following a full five-day audit this week. No CARs were raised. Getting the course to this level has been a long, intense and sometimes fraught process but at last we have a high quality product of which we can be proud.

ISO/IEC is the standard for IT service management systems.  It enables the identification and management of the critical process of providing IT services to meet customers’ demands and business needs.  SGS is one of the first organisations to provide ISO/IEC 20000 Lead Auditor Training Course that meets the requirements set by the IRCA (International Register of Certificated Auditors).

The Standard, ISO/IEC 20000, was published towards the end of 2005 and is based on BS 15000 and ITITL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library).  It is a common and practical IT management model that optimises the provision of IT services within an organisation. By meeting the requirements of this Standard, the organisation may be audited and certificated by a Certification Body such as SGS, confirming that the organisation has the necessary management system in place to meet the needs of both internal and external customers.

The Course provides the training needed to conduct these audits. The structure of the course is built around workshops and exercises based on an Accelerated Learning approach that makes the learning experience enjoyable, practical and satisfying.
