The 2007 IECQ Hazardous Substance Process Management Symposium was successfully held in Taipei International Tronics Exhibition on the first day of the exhibition. The symposium was co-held by SGS, ECCB and TEEMA. 160 suppliers in electrical industry attended. After the ECCB Chairman’s speech on the global trend of IECQ QC080000, Chris Yau, SGS Global IECQ manager gave the detailed explanations on China RoHS which is now drawing a lot of attention. Three of SGS IECQ-certified clients, large Taiwanese electrical companies - Gigabyte, Inventec, Primax also shared their experience on implementing IECQ 080000, which were greatly welcomed. From the end of 2006 till February of 2007, the number of IECQ certificates increased from 134 to 200. So far, SGS has issued 105 IECQ certificates, achieved 53% of global market share. SGS also provides the bundle service of IECQ HSMP 080000 certification and RoHS testing.
SGS has been approved by the Electronic Component Certification Board (ECCB) as the first certification body to extend its capability to conduct IECQ HSPM audits. SGS can now audit IECQ against three Directives: RoHS, Battery Directive and the Packaging Directive. SGS is taking the strong leading position in IECQ business in the world.
