The Decade of Action for Road Safety (2011-2020) calls on countries to implement concrete measures to make their roads safe. This goal is particularly relevant to the African continent, where there are enormous opportunities for improving road safety and saving lives. The First African Road Safety Forum, the first forum of its kind to be held in Africa, will address these opportunities.
This year’s theme is “Road Safety in Africa: Sustainable Development Issue”. The forum will capitalize on the work of COP22 and its declaration for action in favor of our climate and sustainable development. It offers attendees a platform for sharing expertise and good practices, as well as the opportunity to discuss topics such as:
- Strategic and institutional management of road safety
- Financing and steering of strategies
- Integration of new technologies
- Capacity building
- Integration of road safety in company management
The event will feature thought-provoking talks from key people and an exhibition showcasing ideas and solutions. It includes the First African Road Safety Film Festival, which aims to reinforce, through images and film, awareness of the dangers of road safety and ways to make roads safer.
SGS is pleased to welcome you. Our experts will be on hand at Booth 29 Zone 2 to discuss our wide range of road safety solutions.
