Simple, challenging or specific tasks – the NDT experts from SGS can deliver whatever our customers expect. At the 19th World Conference on Non-Destructive Testing (WCNDT), SGS will be presenting some of the most recent highlights. These include a pipe support scanner, designed to monitor the corrosion build-up on pipelines and a Cobra scanner for the semi-automated testing of boiler tubes, using phased array.
SGS NDT experts from all around the world will be presenting their projects. These include in-service inspections for floating production storage and offloading units in Angola, a refinery expansion project in Colombia and pipeline integrity support services in the USA and Canada. Another highlight will be the presentation by the head of process development at SGS Germany. This will cover new testing equipment that combines phased array technology with eddy current testing, to investigate defects at connecting weld seams of heating surface tubes in power plants that cannot be reached by hand.
