The UK Modern Slavery Act was introduced in March 2015. It consolidates UK law on slavery and trafficking, increasing penalties and extending the range of items covered. The Act requires companies with a turnover of more than £36 million to issue a yearly statement on actions they are taking to address slavery and trafficking practices in the supply chain, or to issue a statement that they are taking no action.
To help you learn about modern slavery, and to ensure that you understand the requirements of the UK Modern Slavery Act, we are offering a complimentary webinar. It will be hosted by Karen Murray, Supply Chain Assessment and Solutions Manager at SGS United Kingdom. Our webinar will provide you with the tools to build an anti-slavery strategy for your organization.
Topics covered will include:
- What constitutes modern slavery
- The key requirements of the Modern Slavery Act
- The Transparency in Supply Chain provisions
- Approaches and techniques being utilized
- Available resources and guidance
