SGS has published a new guide, The Route to ISO 50001 – Avoiding the Pitfalls, to help you learn about ISO 50001 and the route to certification.

ISO 50001 was published in 2011 and aims to help organizations establish the systems and processes necessary to improve energy performance. This should lead to reductions in energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions through systematic management of energy.

Our guide, The Route to ISO 50001:2011 – Avoiding the Pitfalls, provides a brief introduction to ISO 50001 and points out some of the common pitfalls in implementation and preparation for a third-party audit. It is a brief explanation of the standard that aims to promote understanding and helps the reader profit from the experience of third-party auditors, and the problems encountered by others.
