In August 2025, we partnered with Mombasa Cement Limited (MCL), member of Nyumba Group, for a joint tree planting event at Vipingo, Kilifi County, under the slogan “Better Planet”.
Mombasa Cement, one of East Africa’s leading cement producers, and the larger Nyumba Group have been a valued clients of SGS for over 20 years, making this partnership a natural fit. By coming together to plant ecologically indigenous trees, both companies are taking concrete action towards creating a better planet for future generations.
The initiative saw leaders from both companies actively participating in the exercise alongside 30 employees from the SGS Mombasa office and laboratory. This was a great opportunity to connect with peers and partners and contribute to a cause.
As a result of this community engagement event, over 600 trees were planted by volunteers from SGS and Mombasa Cement.
We are thrilled to partner with Mombasa Cement and Nyumba Group for this sustainability initiative in Kenya. This tree planting not only helps offset carbon emissions but also contributes to the overall well-being of our planet.
