SGS TRANSITNET OFFERS AUTHORIZED CONSIGNOR STATUS SERVICES IN TÜRKİYE

SGS TransitNet is proud to announce its facility in Hadımköy has been officially granted Authorized Consignor Status by the Turkish Ministry of Customs and Trade. 

The facility at Hadımköy is now authorized to conduct the following services at a single point:

• Inspections of goods and vehicle
• Weighing of vehicle
• Sealing of vehicle
• Preparation and release of the transit declaration 

Transporters using the SGS Authorized Consignor service benefit in a number ways:

• Trucks are not required to visit the Turkish internal customs office prior to departure
• Trucks avoid long delays at internal customs offices
• Transporter do not pay additional charges for formalities at customs office of departure such as registration, overtime, weighbridge fees, customs agent fees, etc.
• Reduces the need to ask questions like: Has my Transit Declaration been prepared? Has my vehicle been inspected? Has it been sealed? Has it been cleared at customs?
• Vehicles can travel directly to the destination country’s customs office confident that all pre-export requirements have been completed

SGS facility at Hadımköy is conveniently located in Istanbul’s primary point of departure for exported goods, very close to Muratbey Customs Office. It is also three kilometers from both the North Marmara and TEM highways, making it easily accessible from all directions. 

Upon completion of the Authorized Consignor procedure, trucks are able to proceed directly to the point of -destination without additional stops, speeding up the process of export and reducing the potential for delays.

SGS is now looking to expand its range of services at the Hadımköy site with the addition of storage facilities. These will allow goods to be stored onsite, with handling, consolidation and loading services being made available on the day of shipment.

SGS is planning to extend these valuable services to other facilities in other locations of Türkiye in the near future.
