On 20-21 September 2023, SGS attended the 5th Annual Future Food Forum at the Le Meridien Dubai Hotel and Conference Centre, Dubai, UAE. The event was organized by the UAE Food & Beverage Manufacturers Group.
The focus of this year’s event was on sustainability, as today’s consumers are focused on healthier alternatives to their current diet. SGS’ increasing focus on sustainability makes it uniquely qualified to tailor their solutions for the food and beverage industry.

This exhibition provided our team with the opportunity to collaborate with over 600 industry stakeholders and partake in crucial discussions regarding food safety, food fraud and facilitating trade in the F&B industry. Along with the panel discussions, we discovered the current challenges facing this fast-paced sector and the potential solutions that can be implemented.

SGS discussed increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning applications within food production, the supply chain and quality control. Data analytics was also discussed in order to reduce waste and improve food quality.
The MENA region presents a unique opportunity for international entities and professionals to obtain new, up to date knowledge regarding the future of food and how every stakeholder has a role to play. Through diversification, this sector will experience innovative growth.

We had a positive experience connecting with experts and distributors across the MENA region. SGS is proud to be at the forefront of this dynamic industry and we look forward to working with food clients to tackle their challenges.
