SGS has been appointed by the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) as the official Notified Body for the certification of Automotive Service Centers, in accordance with UAE Cabinet Decision No. 61 of 2019 – Automotive Service Centers Regulation.
This regulation requires all automotive service centers operating in the UAE to obtain the Conformity Certification to ensure that centers meet national standards for health and safety, service quality, and technical competence. Certified centers are also awarded a star rating from 1 to 5, providing a transparent indication of their compliance level, with 5 stars representing the highest standard of operational and service excellence.
Certification Process
SGS delivers a streamlined four-step certification process:
- Application – Submit your application through the MoIAT online portal
- Onsite Inspection – SGS technical experts conduct a comprehensive site inspection
- Evaluation – Facilities are assessed against the regulation's technical and operational criteria
- Certification – Successful centers receive the Conformity certificate and corresponding star rating

- Technical Expertise – Competence and qualifications of mechanics and technical staff
