On 20 September 2023, SGS Qatar has taken a significant step towards promoting industry awareness by hosting a one-day technical seminar focusing on PAUT (Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing).
The seminar took place at Hyatt Regency Oryx Doha.
This event was specially curated for SGS Qatar valued client’s QA & QC personnel, with a focus on various aspects to ensure the quality control of inspections carried out by NDT personnel.
PAUT is the advance version of ultrasonic testing with high probability of detection (POD), providing with records, which can be analyzed and stored to compare at later stage. Due to the recording and high POD capabilities, in most cases PAUT is being used in lieu of Radiography (RT).
The major issue to implement this technique is lack of awareness and control of the end user. The various difficulties that quality staff or end users are facing, have been tackled during the technical session in Doha.
Over 30 enthusiastic attendees from diverse industries participated in this enlightening event, making it a resounding success.
