KFSH&RC-Jeddah is a well-known 500-bed tertiary hospital providing the highest level of specialized healthcare in an integrated educational and research setting. The hospital offers a wide range of medical services including organ transplantation, cardiac, neuroscience, pediatric, and oncology services, treating thousands of patients every year.

Implementing the HSE Management System in the Hospital
In 2019, KFSH&RC-Jeddah began to develop their Health, Safety and Environment Management System.
During 4 years of meticulous preparation and implementation, the hospital has gradually built effective processes focusing on:
- delivering safe care to patients,
- ensuring safe working conditions for the hospital’s personnel,
- preventing negative impact of the hospital’s activities on environment.
An emphasis was put on hazards identification, associated risks assessment, relevant corrective measures and operational controls along with proper records.
Certification as a way to do benchmarking
In 2022, the decision was taken to go through certification process in order to:
- enhance the established Health, Safety, & Environment Management System and
- benchmark it against the globally recognized ISO criteria: the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
The hospital's dedication to delivering exceptional patient care coupled with their commitment to continuous improvement aligns perfectly with SGS's mission to enhance management systems across various industries. Therefore, KFSH&RC-Jeddah opted for SGS as their certification partner.
Upon successful completion of the certification audits in early 2023, SGS issued ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certificates of conformity testifying KFSH&RC-Jeddah’s compliance with those stringent standards and the Hospital’s ongoing efforts towards sustainable growth.
