In the transport, shipping and logistics sector, every hour counts. Modern customs services must do more than ensure regulatory compliance – they must accelerate daily operations. For companies involved in international transport, freight movement and high-volume foreign trade, fast and secure handling of customs declarations and efficient management of transit processes are essential.
For transport carried out under T1 or T2 procedures, even minor formal errors can lead to delays, increased costs and additional operational risk. A properly prepared customs declaration and well-planned transport procedures therefore have a direct impact on the smooth flow of the entire supply chain.
TransitNet from SGS: scope and capabilities
TransitNet is our multilingual online system, supporting companies across customs transit procedures. It enables the creation, submission, control and monitoring of transit declarations through to completion. It also gives you access to our customs guarantees, removing the need to provide your own financial guarantee. The total value available through us reaches EUR 850,000,000.
A core advantage of the platform is its broad operational coverage. Clients can submit transit declarations from over 20 countries within the NCTS system, with our services available where approximately 95% of transit operations begin. Authorized locations are also available, enabling simplified procedures.
TransitNet is used by over 14,000 clients, and a network of more than 300 transit and logistics experts supports approximately 100,000 declarations per month. The rejection rate by customs authorities remains at around 0.4%.
