MAKATI CITY, Philippines | February 20, 2026 — The Philippine Society for Quality (PSQ) successfully conducted its first Ugnayan Benchmarking session for the year hosted by SGS Philippines at the SGS Academy in Makati. The member-exclusive event carried the theme “Social Sustainability Towards Developing Responsible Business.”
Mr. Roger S. Villanueva, Business Assurance Director of SGS Philippines, welcomed participants. Ms. Neli Dablio, Manager for Marketing and Supply Chain Services, served as Master of Ceremonies.
The learning sessions were led by Mr. Ante Batinic, Technical Manager for Social Sustainability of the Foundation FSSC, who discussed the fundamentals of Social Management Systems (SMS) and the integration of SMS into management systems through FSSC 24000, confirmed through social audits.
Ms. Melissa Meneses, Management Systems Auditor of SGS, also provided insights on social factors within Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks.
Interactive workshops on SMS Readiness Compliance and Living Wage Analysis were facilitated by Ms. Marianne Erasmo, Business Manager for Supply Chain Services of SGS Philippines, providing participants with practical tools for implementation.
All speakers received recognition from both SGS, represented by Mr. Roger S. Villanueva, Business Assurance Director and PSQ, represented by Mr. Gil M. Mallen, Jr., PSQ Vice President for Internal Affairs, and Ms. Leslie V. Rillon, PSQ Trustee. The session concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Jubie S. Tamayo, PSQ Board of Trustee.
The benchmarking activity reaffirmed PSQ’s commitment to promoting social sustainability and responsible business practices among its members.
The latter part of February at SGS Business Assurance division was focused on Social Sustainability. The activities were geared on information campaigns specific to Social Management System and FSSC 24000 Certification. Some of the said sessions were conducted at clients’ sites, while other sessions were done at SGS Academy with various associations. The highlight of the two-week information campaign was the Ugnayan 2026 event which had both discussions and practical workshops for the attendees.
