The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) of the United Arab Emirates has designated SGS as an authorized body to issue Certificate of Conformity (CoC) for textile products under the UAE Cabinet Resolution No. (54) of 2019.
This marks a major milestone for SGS, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring quality and safety standards in the textile industry. With this latest development, SGS continues to support textile and fashion industry by helping them navigate complex regulatory requirements for their products.
A CoC is a document issued by designated authorities to assure consumers that the manufactured product meets regulatory or international standards. This certificate can be requested anytime and is crucial to sell specific products such as textiles in the UAE. The document is valid for 1 year.

The certification scope involves the following items:
- Fabrics
- Apparel (Completed goods)
- Furnishing, including carpets and other floor covers
- Treated Fabric (Chemical)
- Miscellaneous
SGS laboratory in Dubai is IEC/ISO 17025 accredited and tests a variety of products in addition to textiles such as:
