Strategic expansion in Sabah
The new facility was officially inaugurated by the Honorable Datuk Sernam Singh, Sabah’s Secretary of Minerals. Hosted by our local SGS Sabah team, the event was attended by over 20 distinguished guests ranging from government agencies, industry partners, academia, and prospective local clients.
Located to strategically serve the local mining landscape, the facility is designed to support the early stages of the mining value chain, from exploration sampling to sample preparation for analysis.

The Sandakan facility is equipped to provide consistent and reliable sample preparation in full compliance with SGS’s global standards and policies. By processing the raw samples locally rather than transporting them over long distances, our clients shall gain faster turnaround time to the reliable data that they need to make informed investment and operational decisions.
